I need a new lunch - ideas?

I need a new lunch... i have been eating special K cereal and im bored with it. I really enjoyed the convenience of it though - just throwing milk in my mini fridge and having the box behind my desk. I also have only 20 minutes for lunch so waiting on a microwave for 5 minutes would be hard.  I would like something else convenient and not too fatty bo batty for me. Anyone have any ideas?  thanks!!

  • Can you make yourself a wrap or a salad the night before and then bring it to work with you?

That's what I do for DH.

I make him a whole wheat wrap and stuff it with turkey, ranch (instead of mayo), red peppers, onion, spinach, green olives, mushrooms, etc and then he brings it with him.

Another yummy and healthy idea that doesn't take too long is just to brings some carrot (or other veggie) sticks and some hummus for dip :).

  • Here are some standard lunch items that I usually eat:

    -Turkey Sandwich on Wheat

-Carrots w/ Hummus (or some other veggie like broccoli or red peppers)

    -Yogurt

    -Hummus Wrap with veggies

    -String Cheese with crackers

-Big Salad with chickpeas or grilled chicken

    -Peanut butter & Jelly Sandwich

  • This week we've been having pesto wraps - grilled chicken (bought at trader joe's, it's pre-marinaded), whole wheat tortillas, a sprinkle of cheese, some lettuce, and some ceaser dressing. It's been a nice change for us since our lunches are usually pretty boring.
