Ladies, I am looking at purchasing something off Craigslist and going to San Marcos to pick it up after work. I am picking it up from someones house. Have any of y'all done this before? It spooks me out a little.
What do y'all think?
Re: Craigslist Item
Unless it's something big I wouldn't go to somebodys house. Can you meet them at a mutual spot down there? Grocery store parking lot?
If it's furniture ask them if they can put it in the garage so you don't actually have to go inside their house. I always make DH stay with me if somebody has to come inside our house which can look bad but it's my house. I'd have a hard time going into somebody elses house. When somebody bought our washer/dryer I wouldn't let them come through the house and just told them I'd meet them in the garage.

Longhornbabe, how SWEET are you!
I just got a friend to agree to go with me, but thank you SO much.
I've bought and sold on CL. Whenever I sell, unless completely unavoidable, I do it in the garage, and always when my husband was home. One time in buying I had to go into someone's apartment and it was scary! I took my Mom with me and took off all my jewelry! It turned out ot be fine, it was a young couple and they were perfectly nice ... but better safe than sorry!
Recently I sold a phone on CL and the guy wanted to meet at a convenient store, which was weird. I asked him to meet me at a more public grocery store down the street and it didn't bother him at all. I also took my mother and my giant dog with me
