PBG---young couples there? living there?
Hey everyone,
The DH and I are relocating to Palm Beach Gardens. We want to know if the town has a lot of young professionals or newlyweds like us living there. We are also going to be renting for a while before we finish our home search and we are looking for advice on good places to rent ($800-$1100/month). We hope to meet people too since we are totally new to the area. Any advice is definitely helpful!
Re: PBG---young couples there? living there?
Hi!
Lots of newlyweds and young people up here!
I'm in Abacoa, right next door
There are some apartments that are close to two really nice areas for shopping/dining and the mall. They're called Legacy Place (on Alt A1A and PGA). PGA Blv when you get off the Turnpike (heading East) also has tons of restaurants and I think they have some condos for rent too!.
Good luck with the move!
Andreina
Hey thanks!
We just wanted to make sure it was definitely not all retirement and vacation homes. What are the best places to hang out for young couples? We don't have kids yet so we figure besides jobs (which we eventually will obtain) we will have to meet people in other ways.
I would say PGA Blvd (Midtown @ the Gardens) during the night, Legacy Place during the day (and at night Coolio's fish bar gets packed and the food is delicious!) and Downtown at the Gardens used to be great but a lot of restaurants closed...they still have a few places that are pretty popular though. They are trying to get it going again with weekly events.
The Abacoa town center also has a few bars and they have events going on all the time (games for Spring training for the Cardinals, fresh markets, art festivals, etc)
For more restaurants, there are some great ones in Jupiter. One of the newest ones (always PACKED) is called Guanabana's. I've never eaten there, but it's by the water so people love it and just go there for drinks. There is a bar by there by the water (can't recall the name right now)...super casual (on sand) and people just go hang out, they sometimes have bands, etc.
Jettys and Riverhouse are two of my favorite restaurants in this area (yummmy seafood!). The Riverhouse has a pretty neat outdoor bar and Jettys faces the intracoastal and the Jupiter lighthouse.
Where are you moving from?
I think you would like this area then!
But it may be a good idea to just come and spend a few days here before so you guys can get a taste before making the big move!
