Hotel Recs

Hi Portland Ladies!
My DH and I are planning a trip to PDX this summer. We will be there for about 4 days and would like to stay downtown with easy access to public transportation so we do not have to rent a car. Any recommendations for hotels to stay at? We are looking to spend around $150 a night. TIA!

  • I've heard the Govenor Hotel is quite nice and centrally located downtown.

  • A friend of mine stayed at Hotel Modera for 2 weeks last summer & had great reviews for it.

I've had a good experience staying and Portland International Guesthouse- allowed me to stay in a neighborhood (vs downtown) with good access to public transportation plus a kitchen.

  • The Nines is awesome and a great location right on the lightrail.

  • I'm a fan of Hotel Lucia: centrally located in downtown Portland, boutique-y hotel with great black and white photography and nice modern furnishings, a pillow menu and tasty Thai food for room service.
  • The Courtyard Marriott City Center is pretty sweet. It's on the max line (if I remember correctly) and it's very colorful and fun compared to other Courtyard Marriott properties. All the rooms feature photography from local photographers. It's an awesome central location. The restaurant at the hotel The Original is pretty unique too... They consider themselves a dinerant that serves comfort food with a twist.
