Master Bath Flood

Last night I took my first bath in the master garden tub (you know- the one that holds a shitton of water?).  I noticed the water level had gone down about half in 20 minutes but I figured the drain didn't seal well.  So I drained the rest and got out, only to realize about the whole tub of water was on the bathroom floor, by way of the cabinets flanking either side of the tub.

Our cabinets are wet, my master carpet is wet, and my H is beyond angry.  He cleaned as much as he could with the shop vac, tore off the shoe moulding and kickplates on the cabinets and after I emptied my [full] closet, he lifted the carpet.  Only then did we discover the upgraded carpet pad we paid for hadn't been installed.  I'm not ready to move to the next step of pulling up the carpet in the other rooms in the house.  When that happens they will have a lot more work to do.

For now I'm taking the rest of the day off to wait for the water remediation co.  They will determine if the cabinets need to be replaced and make sure everything dries properly.

:::sigh::: This is the third time in less than three years we've had this type of incident.  I'm over it.
