Anyone else snowed in today????

Have to admit I'm excited for the day off, but bummed that I can't go anywhere. Guess I'll spend the day studying and cuddling with the wife. What about you guys?

Re: Anyone else snowed in today????

  • I am so jelaous of your snow!  It must be hard to be snowed in though.  Stay warm and safe.

  • we are, but didnt really need to be....they predicted the snow would start early in the morning so we kept the kids home, but here it is at 1pm and we have zero accumulation.  so annoying.
  • It looks like our school is closing a bit early but it's not too bad.  There will probably be a few inches on the ground when I wake up tomorrow.

  • We're semi-snowed in! We got 30 inches this weekend and we're in blizzard status now (supposed to get 2 feet I think). We went out a little while ago to pick up a few things, but we live in the city and can walk everywhere.
  • We are.  We got about 28-30" this weekend and got another 8-10" overnight/this morning. The wind is howling and visability is next to nothing.  We tried to take the kids out while we shoveled this morning and it was miserable with blowing snow.

The kids haven't been in school since they got out early last Friday and their school is closed through the week.  I did make it into work yesterday (didn't go in Monday) and can't envision getting in tomorrow. I am hoping to go in on Friday. The kids and I have done every activity in our house 1001x since L is working from home and I am trying to keep them occupied.

  • Ditto. We've been snowed in with two brief but delicious grocery store/library runs since Friday morning. My office was closed on Friday and every day since then.

I've got a sprained ankle so I can't really walk anywhere but I've been having lots of fun baking and emailing. It's too icky to play in the snow today so I'm doing housework and E's working on a new carpentry project in the basement.

  • yes....i did some work (even though we're technically closed), bummed around...will start homework soon....kind of a waste of a day though.
  • Carol has a snow day... I unfortuantely don't. The joys of working in a hospital. I did call the staffing service for a ride in tonight. ( If you can't get there they send someone to pick you up) If I have to risk my life out there I am not going to be the one driving.

At least with Carol home we don't have to take Annie out in this.

  • We were both snowed in yesterday and lost power for a good amount of time. Thank god it came back before we went to sleep. DW is home again today.

  • We were supposed to be snowed in! C's office closed for the day, and I opted to stay home with the warnings of a huge storm hitting by lunch time (the bus I take home doesn't even run in the middle of the day).  And then... NOTHING.  We got barely a half inch of snow!

I can't complain though - I got a day at home with C!  We got to relax and get a few things accomplished.
