Hard drive Recovery??

Do any of you ladies know where i could take my computer (Well, more the hard drive) and have them save whatever files they can on it? All of my pictures from the last 10 years are on my laptop and I didnt have it backed up. I am so mad at myself. So now I am hoping the information isnt gone forever.

If anyone has any recs or knows a computer guy who could help me out, please let me know...  Thanks :-)

I would recommend a community college or university in your area.  Last semester I had a computer information systems class, and I know that a lot of the CIS majors volunteer their services under the supervision of professors.  I know it might seem some what unreliable, but the professors look over all work before returning hardware.

Jess I have a few friends that are computer nerds. If you'd like, I can check with one of them and see if they'd be willing to check it out. I doubt they'd charge much if they're able to do it

Thanks Shannon! That'd be sweet if you had a friend who could do it. We have an external hard drive that we could have stuff transferred to if you have someone who could do it....  Let me know!

My HD crashed a couple weeks ago and I took it to Glendale PC Service.  It is a father and son business and they tried for about 6 hours but couldn't get the data.  They charge around 90 to recover it but only 40 to try...most places quoted me around 300 for recovery and over 100 to try.
