My eye is getting on my nerves

So, I got new contacts to "try" yesterday.  When I was putting the left one in at the office, I had a funny hunch I might have done something to my eye while putting it in(yes I AM that special), but it didn't bug me at that time so I thought I was wrong.  About an hour and half after my appt.  I had to take them out because my eyes were dry as fvck and my left one was driving me insane.  SO I figured to hell with it, and gave it another whirl this morning after cleaning and disinfecting them overnight.  No dice.  I had to take an early lunch just so I could fly home and rip them puppies out.  Now my left eye REALLY feels like there's something in it, the only time it doesn't bug me is if it's closed.  BL said I probably did scratch it yesterday.

I'm highly annoyed.

End of rant.

Re: My eye is getting on my nerves

  • Oh no!  I hope you didn't scratch it!  My eye got scratched from a torn contact once, and that suuuccckked.  Are you going to check with the dr?

  • I'm going at 10 in the morning tomorrow to get it checked, I just called and that was the only time they had to squeeze me in.
  • That's good!  I hope it's not a scratch or anything.

  • That sucks!! I had a problem with a pair of trials I got a few months ago. They were super irritating, and it turned out that they were defective and didn't fit right :P. I hope your eye gets better soon!
  • Sorry, I missed the whole contacts thing. What brand are you using? I've been using the Night/Day ones for years and I loooooove them. I sleep in them (which some doctors don't like, but I've never had a problem) but they're great even if you take them out every night. Very thin, very pore-ous. I think they're expensive, but they last a long time if you do take them out frequently.
  • Boo for scratches on your eye, sorry you're having such trouble. Drinks
  • Eye problems are the worst. But thanks as this reminds me I need to make an appt for new contacts.

Those are the kind she has me trying right now, they are the most expensive ones out (I think), Air Optix (or O2 Optix, I forget which ones she gave me) Night/Day.  But she didn't want me wearing them overnight because I have such sensitive eyes.  I actually ending up getting a call before I left work asking me to go right in, she didn't find a scratch or anything so she's thinking it was the contacts, though she said it being just my left eye is weird, but it's possible.  I'm on the eye ointment as a precaution and I have to go back tomorrow.  She said it's also possible the pair I was given had a microscopic slice or something in them and it irritated my eye.  She said IF my eye if feeling better tomorrow, then once it's completely better she wants to try them again, but with a new pair.

Glad your going back to the doc.  Eye stuff sucks because you really can't do ANYTHING when your eye is annoying the sh!t out of you!  I have had to pull off the freeway before because my contact was bothering me, no fun!

  • I'm completely behind in responding.  What happened when you went back again?  Were you able to get a new pair to try?

Redneck uses Extreme H2O extended wear.  He hardly ever takes them out, even though he's supposed to with his diabetes.  I guess there's some new test they can do to see if you wear them at night, because it does do some damage to the eye.

I hope your eye is feeling better soon!
