spreadable butter, that actually spreads? organic. suggestions please!

I am having the hardest time finding organic butter in a tub not in a stick. Also I tried Kate's butter, which I don't think is organic but it was in a little tub vs a stick but it did not spread well! always used to use the brummel and brummel yogurt butter but the ingredients listed aren't the best. does spreadable organic butter even exist? thanks so much!

  • Yes... its called regular organic butter, not so cold. Big Smile

I store my butter in the cupboard most of the year. You can get little butter bells for this which keep it the right temperature and nice and spreadable.

    this

  • We used to keep it on the shelf in a butter dish, but it goes bad for us (even though we keep our house quite cool (~60), so i don't have any suggestions.

  • I use Earth Balance too!
  • Ditto Alisha.  We've never had an issue with our butter going bad.  I briefly considered a butter bell, but then I saw people were commenting about the butter getting moldy and decided against it.  I guess we just use ours fast enough that it spoiling isn't an issue.
  • I use equal parts soft butter and oil, mix it in the food processor and it stays spreadable in the fridge. It is a little healthier than butter but tastes just the same.
  • I take my stick butter out of the fridge to soften before I use it...

Ooh I was wondering if anyone did something like this! What oil do you use?

Olive Oil- it's very good. I use a stick of butter and 1/2 - 3/4 c of oil, mix it, put it in a glass jar and it stays spreadable in the fridge.

  • I use the organic Smart Balance.  Love it...though I don't know much about the company.
