I will say, in spite of being in the ghetto, our kids are good.
I am told what happened, I call our security/medical peeps (we have them here) and then go to make sure she's getting appropriate first aid and there are 4 guys I vaugely know as students. They 3 are basically standing in such a way that she can't get stepped on/tripped over. They're shooing people away and assuring everyone it's fine. And the 4th is sitting on the flor next to her, talking to the girl, keeping her calm, getting information, etc. Which he promptly writes down for the security/medical peeps when they got there.
I give gold stars all arond...and I know which class they were going to so I told them that if they're late, tell the instructor to talk to me, I'll make sure they have 'offical excuses'
Re: Nothing livens up a day like a student having a seizure
They are great.
And these aren't the 'super good' kids...they're community college students who are coasting through--not my uber-fancy-pants ones who always impress me. But they took good care of the girl.
And I also saw our most-gruff security-guard be very gentle in talking to the kid too--which is nice to see. (the girl is a part of a group home and they're making sure she has a safe place to go to)
