I admit: I AM the president of the water wasters club in my household
My hubs is right. I waste water. I take the longest showers in history. I shave my legs almost every day and I know it wastes water, but I do it anwyway. The water bill came yesterday and eeeek, I could definitely lower it and not waste it by turning off the water while I shave my legs. I started today.
Re: I admit: I AM the president of the water wasters club in my household
I think its really hard to remember to be water miserly here. Its dumping down on us constantly, its puddled everywhere.
I don't just waste water purposely, but I do have a leaking faucet, and sorry, but I can't afford to hire a plumber and I'm still failing on fixing it myself, and I take nice long showers. I don't think ridiculous showers, but I'm never going to restrict myself to 5 minutes or do navy showers.
I shave my legs everyday too and I seriously doubt if it would make that much of an impact on our water bill if I cut back. Is your bill that bad? Ours is usually really low this time of the year, around $25, but we don't pay for sewer.
The water portion of my bill is:
Water 3/4" $11.66
Renton Wastewater $16.82
Surface Water Mgmt $7.41
King Co. Wastewater treatment $33.06
so... just under $70. Wanna trade PV?
I am soooo jealous that you don't pay for sewer. Our sewer charge is at least twice as much as our water charges
It kills me. We will never pay less than $80/month because of it, no matter how much I try to save water.
I am a water waster in the summer. I have a bad habit of forgetting that I have the sprinkler on. I really need to get one of those sprinkler timers.
In the winter though, I am way better than DH. He is the king of long showers. I take decently long ones too, but I only shower once or twice a week, the rest of the time I just do a sponge bath, to save water as well as time.
well, we have a septic tank and it has it's own set of fun expenses...
