This has been in the works for a long time. I'm way excited that it's actually happening.
Technically it should be like a four-quel seeing as how they already had Senior Year and University series. The SVU series was so completely insane I don't know how they could follow it up.

I asked her what the target audience is going to be, because let?s face it: the old books are pretty bad and I wouldn?t be reading them if not for the nostalgia factor. JJ thinks Sweet Valley Confidential will be appealing to twenty-somethings and will actually be a decent standalone novel.
Yeah, no, I don't see that happening. Nostalgia would be my one and only reason to read them--guilty pleasure in the tub with a nice cab. I doubt that grown adults who weren't exposed to SVH as children would find it appealing on its own. I guess we'll find out.
