My grandfather will be 90 in April and Grandma is 84. He has advanced Alzheimers now. He barely knows where he is most of the time, but he does have his good days. This past holiday season, Grandma wanted her and Granddaddy to go to a NYE party. My dad put the kibosh on this. Grandma whined and moaned about it, talking about "This will be our last dance... you know you father's not going to last much longer."
Ordinarily this would work, but she's been using this as her excuse to drag Granddaddy to various social events since my wedding. It did not work on Pops almost 5 years later. He said, "You've been having your last dance since 2005. Time to sit down."
