S/O Parent freakouts

My BIL has a TV that takes up one whole wall of their living room in their little house.  He plays violent video games all the time with three grade school aged kids arounds.  Even if they weren't violent, he keeps the sound turned up loud enough that the house vibrates. And that is what he does when company is over so who knows what it is like when it's just him and the kids at home.  Some of them he lets them play, others he tells them that they can't because they are adult games (although I'm pretty sure they are allowed to watch/listen).

My dad told me that the other day BIL and the kids were over at their house and they were looking through my parents' game closet for a board game to play.  My niece wanted to play Clue, and BIL told her absolutely not.  And that he had better never hear about her playing it at a friends house, either (because it is a game about murder and murder is not a game).

So....hunting down and killing people in a video game, hearing them scream and watching their brains splatter is okay.  Playing a game about Colonol Mustard killing Mr. Body in the library with a lead pipe, not okay.

I just a friendly gal looking for options.
