Petty/Repetitive/Stupid/Facebook/MIL VENT!

Facebook privacy settings are a joke. Despite the fact that I have my MIL blocked from seeing Wall Posts, whenever I do a wall post from an application (like, Photo of the Day) she can still see it. And let's say I post a picture or comment and then DH comments on it ... she can now see it!

But that's old news ... Today I posted a photo album and I double checked ... it says Who Can See This ... Friend of Friends Except MIL. And YET .... here she is commenting on one of the pictures in the album

Angry

And here's the really petty part .... she signs all her focking posts with, "Love" or "Hug" or something equally stupid and then "Mom C"

YOU ARE NOT MY FOCKING MOTHER. I don't want her posting that ... just because I don't want people thinking she's my mother.

Guurrrrr %#^ %^#& Angry

Re: Petty/Repetitive/Stupid/Facebook/MIL VENT!

  • My MIL does that in e-mails "LOVE, MOM", but nobody else can see those.  Outside of the nesties, pretty much all of my friends knew my mom, though, so they would have known it was my MIL.  I think being a MIL is just a ticket to crazy, that's all.  :)
  • My MIL signs everything with hugs and love and it drives me INSANE!

She keeps asking DH to be friends on FB but he draws the line. She isn't on my page for obvious reasons.

Can you "accidentally" delete her? They have been having problems ya knowWink

  • That sucks!  I don't understand how she was able to comment. Even when I can see pictures of friends in their friend's photos, I can't comment. I can only comment when I'm friends with that person.

I've thought about creating a second identity on FB and friending it, only so I could then restrict the settings and see what it actually has access to and how things appear. My DH doesn't have FB, so I don't have another person's page I can look on. KWIM?

  • Maybe this will fix it.

    Go to FB Privacy settings

    Click Applications and Websites

Then you can alter what you share and what your friends share about you.

    Try that. GL!
