Re: New to the area

  • Welcome!! Yay, a FW nestie!! DH and i moved here a year ago in August and love it!!

I could go on and on about the places we love--but in terms of a nice place to get a drink after work, i would say JK O donnels or Club Soda downtown, Any of the Casa locations (there is one north, southwest, and two sort of midtown)

North, Cork and Clever has a cute bar, and I have been told Bakers Street has a great menu, but have never been there myself.

I know how hard it is to meet people, so if you ever want to grab a drink or get coffee sometime, let me know. you can email me at mrpalmison at gmail dot com

    Again, Welcome!

  •  I think that we should all meet up!  I have been here for three years now.  Peanuts is a good place to go to. They have good wings and they are just down from Piere's which is another good place to check out.  Not too far from that is Snickers commedy club. Let me know if any of you want to get together.  My friends don't have kids and I would like to get to know other moms.  And I am definately a coffee drinker too. Still trying to find a really good coffee shop though.
  • I'm a little late on this, but welcome! I agree with PP about the restaurants. The downtown Casa location closed :( If you are into dive bars and Macedonian food, there's a cool little place on Decatur Rd., called Southtown Inn. Chappel's is a really nice restaurant, with 2 locations--north and south side. If you like Indian food, try the Taj Mahal at Covington Plaza. If you're into sushi, go to Asakusa-yum! Granite City has tasty beer and so do the Mad Anthony Brewery restaurants.

As for a coffee shop, there's a great little place on S. Wayne Ave, just one block south of Rudisill. Also, there's the Old Crown coffee place and the Firefly on the north side of town. If you need any other suggestions, just PM me.
