Does anyone here work for the USDA?

I'm curious how you like it? I am considering applying for a position, but I wonder how it fits in with my own beliefs.

Re: Does anyone here work for the USDA?

  • i don't work FOR the USDA but i'm paid by a grant from the USDA.  ;-)

it fits nicely with my beliefs, because my job is to help promote college level biotechnology classes with underserved populations.

  • Just curious, what exactly are you concerned about? At this point I would at least apply while you sort it out. You can always say no later if need be.

  • I don't think the USDA itself is an organization not to work for over your beliefs. The USDA really doesn't have beliefs, as its set forth. Its job is regulatory, and working for them should be an opportunity to do good, right? I know its a huge bureaucracy, but every person there is part of the problem or part of the solution! And the USDA does do good things. Its not like its Monsanto! Even if a lot of the people involved have Monsanto ties...

I'm curious what your field is?
