What is the latest "hot" thing in NY?
Right, I know this is a lame question but bear with me

. My boss presented to an investment firm on Wall Street yesterday regarding a new private equity venture. He wanted to send a thank you gift ($100ish) to the team they presented to -- as they were so helpful in accomodating them (they were supposed to come Wednesday but the snow prevented that). Anyway, my first thought was to send a cupcake "presentation" from Magnolia but that might seem passe to New Yorkers. Other thougth was a neat restaurant gift card to take the team out to lunch (althought I know $100 doesn't go far! We could probably increase that a little). Any other suggestions for things that would impress a New Yorker would be sooo appreciated!!! Thanks a bunch!

if you are going to go the cupcake route, crumbs or sweet revenge are far better than magnolia

Since we're talking cupcakes, have you heard of Baked by Melissa? They make bite-sized cupcakes in lots of flavors. So you can send a nice selection and everyone can try.
