movie reviews

bottle shock: excellent.  this movie reminded me of julsey, varuna, pmeg and all you other winos.  it's about the judgement of paris, and was well-acted (okay, i ffwded through some of the chris pine parts) and well done.

12 rounds: dh would not speak to me until dinner when he busted me watching this movie.  i ffwded through most of it.  i did not feel i missed much.

sunshine cleaning: meh.

appaloosa: quite good.  ed harris + viggo mortenson + jeremy irons = all good actors.  renee zellweger is awful as usual, but she is easily ignored.

Re: movie reviews

  • I'll add:

Journey to the Center of the Earth: Brendan Fraser needs some new, less showy hairplugs. Overall, pretty dumb. Although I did convince H to bust out his 3D glasses from Avatar and made him think this movie was in 3D, too (it wasn't). Took him about five minutes to figure it out.

I concur on 12 Rounds. Awful and stupid. Who thought John Cena was a good actor outside the wrestling ring?

Death Becomes Her: Cheesy, campy early 90s fun.

  • those of you who saw avatar and hated it -- like me!, this podcast has an excellent review and hilarious discussion.

  • My Name Is Bruce:  pretty damn funny, and exactly what you'd expect going into it

  • Oooh I have Bottle Shock at home.  Now I can't wait to watch it.
  • Deadgirl: The most disturbing thing I've seen in a looooong time. Well acted, and an interesting twist on a horror flick, but seriously, creepy.

  • Chris Pine SUCKED in Bottleshock, but it just set him up for not sucking so bad in Star Trek.  However, the movie as a whole?  How can you NOT love Alan Richman being an Englishman in France (spelled last name wrong).
