it's quiet in here
so i will tell a story.
way back in the day, bil and sil got married. sil has a younger brother who is kind of a sullen thing. we spent some time with sil's family for the "getting to know you" dinner, the rehearsal, the rehearsal dinner and other events.
at the rehearsal, the younger brother brought a date, a lovely young woman. she was very pretty and charming, and a lot more talkative than younger brother. conversation finally got around to "so, what do you do?" and this nice young woman said, "i'm an actress." (this was in los angeles.)
i thought that was nice and asked if she had been in anything recently. she lowered her eyes a little bit and said quietly, "well, yes, i was. umm, in a video. a rap video."
you know i immediately went into "EVERYONE, CLEAR A SPACE. YOU -- SIT NEXT TO ME. I HAVE QUESTIONS."
it was a rap video, and i think it had chingy or jermaine dupri or some nonsense in it. she got to wear her own clothes and would NOT wear anything less. there were a lot of women there. a lot. she stood mostly in the back because the ones who were in the front by the cameras got there for a ... special reason, and she's not a special girl. the drinks were real. it was a long day. no, she doesn't know karrine steffans. she really didn't think she would do it again.
the next time we saw sil and bil, younger brother was no longer seeing this girl. i am still sad over that.

i really didn't get to ask her any more questions; dh was all, "leave this poor girl alone" and younger brother left the reception early. yes, he bailed on his own sister's reception. (it was an afternoon wedding, so it's not like it was late. i mean, the whole thing was over before dinner, and he was gone at like 3.)
it's not like she's carrann or something.
but really, i haven't. i only met her that one weekend and i don't remember her name.
