Bare Minerals Must Haves

I've finally decided to switch over to Bare Minerals. What are the must-have's? I don't wear a lot of make-up but I know I'll need some type of powder/foundation.

Re: Bare Minerals Must Haves

  • I would buy the kit, it comes complete with what I would call the "must haves."  The mineral veil, foundation, brushes, bronzer and blush!
  • I would go for the foundation and the mineral veil at the very least.... plus the brushes for each.

I also use the bronzer for blush, and eye shadow. I love that stuff! :)

  • the big brush, and really just the foundation. I bought the starter kit and it came with 2 foundation colors, a bronzer, 2 brushes and i think that was it. I really only needed the one big brush and the foundation in my color. Now if you want everything like the blush, eyeshadow, etc. you will have to pick up those.
  • I just did this - and I got the starter kit. It was def a good buy, IMO. I'm loving it, it's light makeup so it shouldn't feel weird to you. You find your coloring and get that kit and it comes w/ 2 things of foundation so you can play w/ the shade that will match your skin tone best... and it comes w/ all the nesc brushes, and the mineral veil pps have mentioned.

    Have fun :)

  • The things I use every day: Kabuki brush (big one), concealer brush, foundation powder.  Other things I rec: mineral veil, and the all over face brush.  I use my other blush (smashbox) because it's easier than the warmth all over color stuff that BM has.

  • I agree with the others, I found the starter pack to be worth the price. When compared to what you'd pay for each item individually, it made sense. For the brushes, I regularly use the big face brush, the buki brush, and the concealer brush.  For the products, I reguarly use 1 foundation shade, the blush, and the mineral veil. Sometimes, I use the "well-rested" eyeshadow on my (many) pimples, it seems to help neutralize the redness. It was good to order the kit to have the option of two shades of foundations, I think when it's the dead of winter I might end up using the lighter color more.

  • Oh, I meant the "warmth" that's included in the starter pack, not blush.
  • Is there a place that carries BM that you can get a trial done?
  • Elissa- I think Ulta or Sephora will allow you to try on the makeup. I was going to get the starter kit, but they didn't have one fair enough for me so I have to buy the makeup separately.

  • I'm sure you've already gotten the started kit & loved it. However, try this company - it's EXACTLY (hypoallergenic, same ingredients, no fillers, natural SPF 15 blah blah blah) the same as BM but A TON cheaper) Sheer Bare Minerals makeup gives you 30g of makeup for $11.99 & BareMinerals makeup is 16g for around $35. Go to www.etsy.com/shop/MineralFace it's all natural, organic mineral makeup for less! If you've used BareMinerals, you will love this one, as it's the EXACT same but 2x the makeup for 1/3 the cost!
