I sooo want spring to be here already!

My yard is terrible.  Year after year we spend a couple hundred dollars putting in flowers but always fail to put something in for winter.  Things are so bare.  I planted some tulips for the first time and can't wait to see them.  I also planted some knockout roses and hydrangeas.  Where oh where is spring?

Re: I sooo want spring to be here already!

  • I do the same thing. I'm wanting to put in some of those tall swaying grasses in the front. They will give me something to look at next winter. I have finally come to appreciate some things in the winter, like more a movement than a look to a plant or shrub. But I am still jonesen for green grass and flowers. We are finally getting some days in the upper 40's so this will be a really hard week to want spring.

  • LOL. I'm amused that you guys actually look outside in the winter. Right now all of our stuff outside is covered in snow. There's nothing to look at except whiteness.

I don't bother planting for winter scenery. We've got a few bushes and trees that hold the snow up in a different shape, but it still gets covered.

I'm itching for spring to come too. I have some seeds started indoors. It's still probably too early, but I didn't care. I'm jumping the gun because I can't take this cold sadness anymore.

  • lol collegegrrl, I am so starting some stuff inside this week too.  Way toooo early here but I am so over winter.  I am aching to see some little tips of my crocuses come up and I may or may not be serving roasted rabbit for Easter if I see any of those mf-ing beasts chowing down on them again this year!
