Does anyone grow spinach?

I'd like to grow spinach but I don't know if it will do well in zone 6 where I am with clay soil.  I couldn't find much by searching online.  Does anyone grow it?  Can it be grown inside if our conditions aren't ideal?

I tried... I didn't get any. I have no problem growing lettuce but spinach is supposedly pretty hard to grow

I grew it in zone 5.

I have clay soil, and it does really well for me in zone 9b (though it only grows here in what passes for "winter").  It even self-sows!  It's one of the few veggies that does well for me every single time from seed.  I do have better luck with it in containers with potting soil (that's where it self-sowed), but it grows in the ground here too.

I've had great luck with spinach in containers. We started it from seeds inside, then moved it outdoors when it was warm enough.  Good luck!

I grow it in zone 7.  But my problem is that it bolts really quick as soon as it gets warm.  i have sandy loam and teh way I get a bumper crop is heavy mulching, shade and planting in the fall.

I second growing it in containers or a raised bed.  Mine did great from seed, but it went to seed as soon as it got hot.
