Clothes made with organic cotton
This is probably a stupid question but is there a certification for organic cotton? I'm looking online for shirts made of organic cotton but am wary of the word unless there is something to back it up.
Thanks!
Heather
Re: Clothes made with organic cotton
Just as with organic food, it is independantly certified based on organic growing and processing methods. I'm not sure what percentage of the fiber must be organic to be labled as such (versus just "made with organic materials" or whatever).

It's independently certified by an organization just like food. There should be a USDA Organic logo and possibly who did the certification, like "Certified organic by QAI" or something. I really like the shirts from this company: http://www.greenlabel.com/.
100% Certified Organic Low impact dyes No PVCs or other harsh chemistry Pre-shrunk Made in the USAAdorable greend designs too!
