Bowling???

DH wants to celebrate his b-day next weekend by going with our friends to bowl.  It's been so long since we've been and my experience has usually been that all the bowling alleys in SA are run down and smells like smoke.  Even if they don't allow smoking anymore the place still stinks like smoke.
And I'd love to bring in our food but I doubt they would allow this right?

Any suggestions?

Re: Bowling???

  • The only bowling alley I've been to recently is the one over on 281 near Embassy. I didn't think it was run down, but I don't know that there's anything that special about it either. It's actually surprisingly expensive if you go on the weekend nights, but it's still fun. I have no idea if they allow outside food, you'd probably have to call and check. Sorry that's not much help!
  • There is one on Callahan and fredricksberg but i'm not quite sure the name of it.

I think it's called Oak Hills Bowling. Doesn't it also have cosmic bowling? I remember doing that years ago! Besides that place, I've been to the one on San Pedro/Bitters Rd and University Bowl on De Zavala/IH-10. I think they're all about the same to me (but it's been a long time since I've gone). I doubt any would let you bring food in, but it's worth a phone call! Good luck! :)

  • Also think about the University Bowl on 10 and DeZavala. :) That is where my daughter's Girl Scout troop and school used to have all of her events. It is pretty nice and not super expensive.

Oak Hills DOES of cosmic bowling. ;)
