My husband is awesome

For dinner tonight I had a perfectly cooked medium rare filet, creamed spinach and smoked gouda mac & cheese.  All cooked by MrShoe after he worked all day.  I'll hopefully sleep all night in my beef-induced coma.

Be jealous.

  • That sounds delish! I wish my Mr. could cook like that! Instead he paid Sullivan's to do it for him. Funny enough though - I also had a filet and creamed spinach.

  • Awesome husbands rock, way to go MrShoe.

  • I ended up doing the cooking...how did that happen??

But mine was awesome too - Ribeye steaks with a delicious rub, scallops (which I seared PERFECTLY and was very proud of myself), Alfredo sauce with angel hair pasta and mushrooms, and roasted garlic smeared on Italian bread. It was so good!

DH had ordered desert from Cheesecake Factory...yum!

Ok, I'm officially jealous of your meal now.  Scallops are my absolute favorite!

Mine too! I've always been afraid of cooking them myself because 1) they are expensive and 2) they're soo easy to overcook. I'm very impressed with my mad scallop cooking skills - they were perfectly browned on top and bottom and still slightly undercooked in the middle - YUM!

  • Fresh market usually has good prices on sea scallops, which I much prefer to bay Scallops. Just as an FYI. They are also really easy to cook, just watch them, they pretty much "tell" you when they are done. Very daunting the first time.
John boiled lobster last night in this broth that he made, it was the 2nd best lobster I have ever had. I was a little disappointed that he didn't grill it, until it hit my tongue, sooooo yummy.

This is good to know.  MrShoe went to Maxwell's for our steaks and was going to get some scallops too but he said they didn't look right.  I'll have to let him know about Fresh Market.

Lima, MrShoe once "recreated" a dish we had in Napa with scallops served with orzo and a burre blanc sauce.  Oh my God, orgasm in my mouth!
