** Future Mrs.Amador **

I have been meaning to ask you, how is the house hunt going?  I think I saw in another post a while ago that you guys put an offer on one.

Re: ** Future Mrs.Amador **

  • Hey! Thanks for asking....it's going!

The 1st house we offered, they came back with $11K over the asking price. So, we said, yeah right and walked!

We just put another offer in on a house that's more suited for us! WE LOVE IT...the house, the neighborhood, the area...it's just, well, almost perfect.

We put the offer in last Tuesday and should hear within another 1-2 weeks. We are really crossing our fingers since it's been a little disappointing with the other houses we've seen. Either they are NASTY inside or way too small....

I'll def. let you know if we do or don't get it. If we do, we'll be having a pool party this summer and you are all welcome!! lol

  • That's what was so frustrating about looking for a house. It could have been listed 5 minutes ago and it already had offers, or it looks awesome on the outside but on the inside it looks like people took chainsaws to walls and someone was murdered in it :(

I hope you get it Stacy!!!

  • Thanks, Shannon, I hope so too!! :-)
  • I am so glad to hear about the second offer, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.  I remember when my parents and us were looking at house, it was a hot mess out there. We went to this one house where, and there is no exageration here. every room and every wall was a different color.  So i know what you mean about it being disappointing,

That will be nice to have a pool, the next house for us will need to have a pool, lol.  Are you guys looking at forclosure/shortsales?

  • Most of them are short sales, which I hate but they are EVERYWHERE!!! Of course the 2 we offered on are both Short Sales but we put in the contract to hear within 3 weeks so hopefully we'll find out soon!

  • I know what you mean, Shortsales are everywhere.  The house we are in was a shortsale too.  it is hard to find one without crazy damage.  My sister was telling me the other day that people are even taking the toilets now! Seriously what are they going to do with  toilet. lol

i am keeping my fingers crossed for you, i hope you get some good new soon :)

  • That's what worries me the most....we sign a contract and go through closing and we walk into the house and everything's gone and/or destroyed!

It's a great market right now but it's scary too....very hard to find a house for sale by a person rather than the bank.

  • I think that is something that could be or should be covered in your contract.  If the sellers agent says you know in the ad that all appliances included and it comes to moving day and there is only the hookups they can get into major trouble with major fines.  So if you walked in the house and everything was there and good shape it should be in the same condition on moving day :) i hope that puts your mind at ease

They sell everything! One house I looked at had taken the kitchen cabinets, counters, appliances, light switch covers, bathroom light fixtures, toilets, you name it, it was gone!!

  • Totally agree with Shannon.

They also do it to disqualify an FHA loan.  A few houses we looked at- the carpet was ripped up, rolled up, and placed agains the wall so there was exposed concrete.  Another house had a single hole punched in each room.

Some people are angry....and well figure if they can't keep their house, no one else should either.
