Hello, idiot family
DH and I tend to put off plumbing projects because we both hate them. One side of our kitchen has been plugged since forever. It was the drained side so it didn't matter much. Our master shower never really got hot, tepid to warm, but never hot.
Turns out the sink had a popsicle stick stuck in it. We've never bought popsicles with sticks. The handle on the master faucet pops off and you can adjust the temp range you want. Both projects took 30 minutes and needed nothing but an allen wrench and a pipe wrench. We've been living with these for years.
Good thing the kid helped get it done.
He had to see everything.
