If I were to have a girl (sometime in the distant future) I kind of want to give her the middle name Willow.

Luckily, it doesn't go with the first name I most definitely want, which is Maya.

See, we started casually looking at baby names this weekend because we have NO clue for a boy. Willow is NOTHING compared to some of the crap I saw on the list of top names for 2009.

Willow isn't horrible for a middle name. It's not like you're naming the kid Falease <<<a real name I saw on FB this weekend.

The name Willow reminds me of the movie of the same name.

That being said, I don't think it's bad for a middle name.

I love the name Delilah. I know she was a biblical btch but she had a great name.

Also on the list is Minnie, but that is H's choice.

Minnie is for his grandmother. Jewish tradition is that you name a child for a deceased relative - or at least that is an option.

We've figured out a boys name for our non-existent child, but have no ideas for a girl.  There is a family middle name that I always thought I would use, but it's only one letter off from my last name, which I just think would sound weird.

There is a kid at Autumn's daycare named Delilah. She's totally adorable.

 

I have a great great aunt named Minnie.

Exactly.  But I'd feel weird bucking the tradition because there is one girl in each branch of my mom's family who has the middle name (sister, mom, grandmother, cousin, etc),  However, if we have kids at all, it's a long way down the road for us, so not really anything I have to stress over yet.

H and his sister both have the same middle name. It was his parents' way of hyphenating without the hyphen. I will not do that to my kids.

I posted about this a long time ago, but DH and I both liked Persephone.  Practicality won out, but DD would have been an ossum Persephone.
