How long was your C-section recovery?

It's been 5 weeks since mine and I'm still in some pain.  I really thought I'd be pain-free by now!  Granted I'm feeling A LOT better than I was a few weeks ago and it's getting better every day.  I'm just really looking forward to feeling like my old self again.  I'm hoping by this weekend I'll be comfortable enough to do some light working out on the elliptical, but we'll see.  I know everyone is different, but for those who had a c-section I'm curious to hear-- how long was it before you were pain-free?

Re: How long was your C-section recovery?

  • I had a C-Section two days before you and I don't think my recovery was normal I was back to feeling like myself a week laterI was off my pain meds by day 6. I just got the ok to work out on Friday so I can't wait to start. I hope you feel better soon!
  • I would say that by week 6 I was able to go on pretty decent walks (like  2miles) and I was ok but before that 6 weeks I got sore. I went back to work at 8 and I was really sore at the end of the day yet.
  • I also think I recovered fairly quickly.  I think I was pretty pain free by about 4 weeks.  Although, you know me, I totally didn't work out at that point:)  Plus, the mastitis pretty much took the focus off of my section pain and put the focus on my boobs.  I would call your ob just to check in...

Kate is beautiful!  I can't wait to see her again!  Take care!

OMG, I can't believe your recovery was that quick!  I'm so jealous.  Although very happy for you.  My recovery has been a PITA and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.  Enjoy your workouts!  Hopefully I'll be able to start soon, too!

Thanks for your reply!  There's comfort in hearing I'm not alone and that someone else has had a similar experience.  I was beginning to think something was wrong with me!

Thanks Beth!  I hope you're doing well and hope we get to see you again soon!
