When's the last time you cleaned out your closet?

How often do you clean the closet? What are your rules for keeping/throwing out?

I know it has been less than a year since my last closet cleaning, but my body has apparently been doing some weight re-distribution so nothing fits right anymore. I'm going to use this as an excuse to buy some new clothes, so I'm getting rid of the old stuff. I'm finding some frightening things in there, and I'm wondering WHY I didn't throw it out before.

I try and and do it twice a year, when I bring out my winter clothes and when I put them away. Otherwise it wouldn't all fit. I did rearrange it it yesterday though, since I had just gotten a bunch of new clothes and things needed to be moved around to accomodate.

I try to do it at least once a year.  Although I know for a fact it's been more than a year since I last did it.  I am the worst at throwing out but I generally throw things I haven't worn in the past year.  Unless I think it might come back in style or is a classic piece.

I just cleaned everything out since we just made a move, but I am a purger anyway, I am forever sending stuff to goodwill/St. Vincent de Paul. I can't stand a lot of stuff, so I give stuff away a lot.

We do a good purge everytime we move. Which lately, has been once a year :-/
