Good Morning! How was your weekend?
Mine was great!
DD's party went very well, she looked adorable in her pirate costume. I dug up both of my gardens yesterday. DW got me the Nike+ sensor and ipod adapter and Skinny B!tch in the Kitch (vegan cookbook) for V Day.
We couldn't have had more perfect weather, it was in the 70's with blue skies all weekend.

Two Mommies Healing Hearts
I'm at work
But C is picking me up a little early and we're loading up the car with boxes I've collected for packing!
We had a very nice weekend. Another great birthing class on Saturday, followed by baking that dairy-free chocolate cake for my mom's bday. We had a yummy lobster dinner at my mom's and the cake was a BIG HIT!! Yay!! Everyone loved it and couldn't believe it was dairy-free.
Sunday we got some packing and other things done around the house and then had our Valentine's date in the city, which was really nice.
Then I came back to work and started my day off a little rocky... I came across a cockroach in our ladies' room!!!!
I killed it and then scrubbed the bottom of my shoe with chlorox wipes, LOL

I am not at work, but I did just get the kids down for a nap! YAY!
Friday we went to dinner at our favorite Mexican place.
Saturday we did some cleaning and then to Costco (with every other person in DC who had eaten everything in their homes during the 2 blizzards.) We went to Pei Wei for dinner and came home to watch the Olympics.
Sunday we went to see a kids' performer at a kids stage and then to a nicer lunch (Macoronni Grill - and the kids really behaved well!) and to the Disney Store to pick up the kids V-Day gift (a set of cars from the movie Cars.) I guess the kids used up all of their good behavior pre-nap since the evening was a bit of a nightmare and even my wife who rarely drinks had a drink. She worked (since she has to make up hours from last week) after the kids went to bed and we shared some chocolate truffles and watched the Olympics.
All in all a good weekend - except Carter has started having accidents again - like 4-5/day. He seems to have most of them at home - but sometimes has 2-3 in an hour and then in fine the rest of the day. It is so maddening since he was completely trained for months. He says it doesn't hurt, so I am not thinking UTI. I am hoping once he goes back to school tomorrow and we get back into a routine, he'll stop it. Off to wash a load of clothes and his car seat cover. Sigh.
Friday we went to Ikea for lunch and to get something to store Annies toys in. We ended up with a white laminate chest thing that you put plastic bins in. ( they slide in and out) Makes cleaning up the living room a lot easier.
Then we met two friends for dinnner at the outback for their birthdays. Annie was giving them baby fever big time, but they have to wait for now. Lisa is here from England on a work visa ( first a student now a work) and is trying for her permanent residency. It is illegal for her to have a baby here now because they think of it as a trick to be able to let her stay. This is another one of the things that sucks about not having SS marriage. Her sister met a man from Virginia and they got married and she is now here legally.... Lisa can't do that even though she and Barb have been together 5 years longer. Sigh.
Saturday we actually made a date night! Annie stayed with her Nana so we went and saw Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It was a really good movie. Made me jump in a couple of points though. The effects were really good and the story was a great intro to Greek Mythology for young adults. I was impressed.
Sunday was spent hanging around the house getting some stuff done. Today we went for lunch and grocery shopping and now I am going to bed before work.
Busy few days.... but a lot of fun and family time so it was great.

I don't remember - lol! Okay Saturday we both went out to run errands, I had the oil in my truck changed and got it washed. Then K and I met up at the movie theater and saw Avatar. I thought the movie was good but the plot line wasn't anything original.
Sunday our new mattress arrived at 7:22am (!) We went out for an early breakfast and then took a nap.day but I did lay some tile floor that we had to pull up last week.
Monday K went off to work and I worked on the nursery. I needed to replace a piece on the crib and what should have been a really simple project turned into a trip to Lowe's and about 4 hours worth of work! But I did get the crib together, mattress, bedding and all!! It's feels so great to have the baby's bed ready :-) Then I grouted the tile I h ad laid on Sunday. Follow that with a warm shower and some Olympics and I was a happy girl :-)
We had a nice, mellow weekend. Saturday we got an early start and met my parents at a children's museum where we dropped Sprout for some playtime/babysitting. While my parents were watching sprout, the rest of us went back to the car dealership (Andrea and I had spent our friday lunch break picking out a van and negotiating on it) to sign the papers. That was an annoying visit that took waaaay longer than it needed to. Then we met back up with Sprout and my parents and went took them out to lunch. After nap it was back over to the car dealership to pick up the new car and trade in the old one...we took the kids b/c it was supposed to be quick and easy. Well, THREE HOURS later, we were finally out of there with the new car but I was pissed that it took so long and that I had to switch the two carseats in the freezing cold darkness.
Sunday morning Sprout and I made pink pancakes which were a big hit then we bundled up for our first family walk to the playground
Sprout played for a while then it was back home for hot chocolate, grilled cheese, and nap. After nap we went to my parents for dinner.
Monday daycare was closed so andrea and i each worked a half day. The kids visited my dad in the morning and in the afternoon it was back over to the freaking car dealership to pick up our license plates. Again, what was supposed to be a quick stop was an hour long visit (do you know how hard it is to keep a 3 year old entertained for so many hours in one weekend at a car dealership??? we were LIVID) then we went to the mall to return some jeans. It was Sprout's first trip to the mall with us and he did really well! He's getting so great at public outings and I just couldnt be prouder
Though we do need to invest in a sit n stand asap since he's not a stroller guy and the mall is a very long walk when you have legs that little.

My weekend was not bad. However, today was a bit hair-raising. I was coming up to a stop light, so I pushed down on the brake all the way to the floor, and nothing happened. I shifted down to first gear to try to slow myself down, but I could still see I was going to run into the car ahead of me. So I steered over to an empty lane, then went right through the red light. Fortunately, no one was coming, so my car and I are both in one piece. But I got the car into the repair shop as quickly as I could! They say it's a problem with the master brake cylinder, and they will have it fixed tomorrow, but that's more adrenaline than I really like to deal with.
Cymru, I definitely feel for that couple. My wife and I have been together for nearly nine years. However, her green card only came through about a week and a half before the wedding. That was very scary!
