Anyone know how to get rid of duplicate tracks in i-tunes?

I don't have the i-tunes software here at work, but can you right click on the track and delete?

Maybe.  I'll try it on a song that I don't care about because I'm scared that it is only stored once on my computer but pulling into itunes twice and that I'll be deleted both if I do that.  But it might be someone saved in two folders.  We merged two computers into one this month so I'm all cornfuzzled.

right click, delete.

i had to edit because the site loads so slow, and is a little bit of an ahole.

 

in the playlist, it only deleted the track. in the 'purchased' list, it'll delete the actual song. i *think* it'll ask you if you are sure you want to delete the song from your purchased list, but i am not 100% sure.

If you right click on it and view the info about each song, you can see where on your computer it's stored.  You can check both to see if it accidentally put the same file on your iTunes twice, or if you have the song in two different places on your computer.
