Photoshop Elements not starting

Wondering if you can help me troubleshoot. My PE program won't start up.  The icon bounces and works, but nothing opens. I've tried restarting, shutting down, and checking everything out. It worked 3 days ago.

Suggestions?

Re: Photoshop Elements not starting

  • Is there a program update that needs to be installed?

Can you try launching it from the Installation CD?

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • The icon bouncing tells me you're on a mac, am I correct? If so, can you try to repair permissions? It is under Disk utility. Another thing to try is to find the .plist files for Photoshop elements and move them to a different location and try starting it again. Did you do anything to the installation files?

ETA: If you indeed have a Mac you can take a look at the error log. Click on the Apple at the top of your screen and select About My Mac and then More info. Then scroll down to Software and find Logs and then look at system.log. It will probably give you more information about why the program didn't start.
