Pictures and more info...

Well, I know I said I'd update the other post I made, but today has been busy, so I decided to make a new one.

First - here are a couple of pictures...

And for more of my story... I was sent into the hospital on Thursday at 5, was given cervadil overnight and started pitocin on Friday. Friday night I was checked and had made NO progress, so they stopped everything so I could eat dinner and get a good night of sleep with plans to start again Saturday.

Saturday morning at 5am I was started on pitocin again and about 2 1/2 hours later my water broke on its own. At that point I was only 2cm but the contractions started coming on strong and I asked for an epi after a couple of hours. Around lunch time the doctor came in and I was checked again to find out I was a full 10cm and ready to go.

After more than 2 1/2 hours of pushing it appeared progress had stopped with Collin's decent and his heartbeat was not recovering as quickly after each contraction so the doctor decided to assist with forceps. We soon found out even with all the pushing in the world it wouldn't have been likely I could do it on my own because his cord was so short that it literally broke when he was delivered.

He had perfect apgar scores right off the bat and is really healthy. I, unfortunately, did not make it through the delivery as well. I had a 2nd degree tear, which really isn't a big deal in the long run, but I also experienced some hemmoraging and lost a lot of blood before the doctor found the problem and fixed it. I couldn't get out of bed unassisted and was out of it for quite a while.

Anyway, as you can tell, I am just fine now. We are all home and happy and survived our first night. Collin has a little bit of jaundice, but the doctor we saw today is not concerned and expects it to be just fine in no time. He has to get an ultrasound to check out a kidney problem he had in utero, but other than that is just perfect. He's feeding like a champ loves to cuddle.

Thanks for reading if you got this far, and thanks for all the wonderful comments earlier :-)
