I should have stayed in bed...

Holy traffic jam on 295 this morning!  Thank you tractor trailer driver for effing up my morning.  I had to do a K-turn on 295 and drive the opposite way down the road to a ramp.  There was a crazy amount of people going down Route 30, so I just headed towards the Ben.  Took me 2 hours and it usually takes me 25 minutes.  Sucktastic morning indeed.

Six days off of work and I come back to that.  Ugh.  I would have narrowly missed said accident if I wouldn't have been nice and scraped off H's car for him.

How was everyone's Valentine's Day weekend?

Re: I should have stayed in bed...

  • Glad you were a good wife this morning. I still have co-workers not in due to that accident. Sounded awful.

V-day was really nice. We didn't do anything "romantic" but we went to look at cribs and picked out a set! I'm pretty excited. Then we got sushi and I broke the rules for a couple pieces of salmon roll. SO yummy.

  • The 295 back up was pretty insane.  Luckily for me the H was driving today so I just napped the entire ride in.

We don't really "do" anything for Valentine's day, but the H stopped at the store on the way home from the gym and bought me a huge heart balloon which was nice.  The dog is terrified on it.  We also made chicken cordon bleu for dinner.

  • I saw that backup on the news. Sorry you got stuck in it, Izzy!

Kat - what set did you pick out and where did you get it? I loved buying all the baby stuff : )

We just picked up sushi for Vday and caught up on some DVR shows. We don't really celebrate. I took off yesterday b/c H had off, so we went to DE and did some shopping. It was nice to get out of the house! Sucks being back to work today, though.

  • It's hard coming back after SIX days off! I felt like I had a mini vacation. It was really nice, depsite the fact that DH was working most of the time.

We stayed in for Valentine's Day - dinner was AWESOME (it's in my blog!)

We watched 'Couples Retreat' over the weekend, and now I desperately want to go somewhere tropical... sit on the beach, drink margaritas, and take mid-afternoon naps. ::sigh::

  • Erin: We watched couples retreat too...that resort was AMAZING!!!!

We stayed in for Valentines Day too and DH cooked an amazing dinner, he got me two cards, one from him and then he had the dog step in blue chalk to sign a card from the dog himself.  The dog came walking up to me, card it mouth, it was very cute :)  We just cooked and ate which was nice and then watched a movie.

I'm so depressed with this weather anymore, I feel like it's been winter for 6 months straight...I'm in desperate need of warmth and sunlight!!!

  • I slept for most of the day on Valentine's day and then watched bad tv programming.  I went to bed early to prepare for my return to work yesterday.  Completely lame...I know.

We also forfeited gifts this year for valentine's day.  In fact, we pretended that it didn't exist.

  • Saturday I made a nice dinner complete with a fabulous tiramisu cake...yummy!! The hubby loves tiramisu but I am freaked out by the raw eggs. This cake was perfect. We alos went to the movies to see Valentine's Day...very funny and light hearted. We had a giftcard for the movies we never go otherwise. Sunday worked on the house.

  • Sounds like everyone had low key but really nice celebrations!

We went to Valenzano winery for their Wine and Chocolate Trail weekend.  If you are a fan, they have a new Shamong Red Reserve that was quite good plus a Blueberry Bubbly and a Cranpagne if you like sparkling wine.  We just did cards as well--no gifts.

  • We were in Avalon for the past week and had a houseful visiting us for Valentine's.  We exchanged corny cards, I gave H a Phillies shirt (which I only did to justify getting myself a new one), he gave me a Peace, Love, Mom shirt and a Peace, Love, Baby onesie to Jack, and made us a reservation for a roll your own Sushi and Saki night next Saturday.  It will be our 1st night out since the baby was born and first time I'm having sushi in forever, AND 1st drinks for both of us since we found out I was pregnant.

Going to our house tonight to dump the fridge and start to settle back in after a long week+ away.
