XP: Netbook - have one? recommend it?

I have a huuuuuge laptop, and I love it but it's not exactly the most portable thing in the world. I'll be doing a fair amount of traveling this year and want something small and easy to bring with me. I'll mostly be using it for email, surfing the internet and word processing.

I'll be doing my online research but always love getting recommendations from Nesties.

  • I've heard mixed reviews. However, I think if that's all you intend to use it for, you should be good to go. Netbooks are designed to do limited work. They aren't for the gamer or someone who wants to picture edit. It's simply a computer for someone who just needs a super portable computer.

  • I have a Dell Inspiron Mini, and I love it!  I got it for Christmas, and I use it basically just for the internet.  I have a desktop that I use when I am not multi-tasking, but when I want to hang out on the internet and watch TV, the netbook is awesome.

  • I got one last summer and I love it.  I also have a desktop that I use for editing pics and things of that nature, but I use my netbook quite often.  I have the Asus Eee Pc 1000he.
  • We have an Acer that runs well and a beautiful Toshiba. BUT , I would strongly suggest buying a wireless mouse. The one on the Acer system gets on my last nerve.
