Re: 10 things Tuesday
1. The kids school was closed again today. Most school districts were on a 2 hour delay - but ours was closed. We had geared them up for school, packed their lunches, and were ready. They haven't been to school in almost 2 weeks.
2. We took them bowling yesterday for the first time and they LOVED it. They are begging to go back today. LOL. But bowling when you are 3 is very tiring and they were passed out at nap for 2+ hours - which was great - but made bedtime a nightmare.
3. I am working 1/2 a day today b/c of childcare. I am leaving at noon and have a lot of stuff to do. Which then begs the question - Why am I doing the 10 TT?
4. L and I are doing praying/hoping/begging that school is open tomorrow. She is having to work at nights/weekends to make up hours which is tiring for both of us.
5. Carter seems to be having less accidents when he is given an incentive for staying dry (today it is going to the gym childcare.) I didn't think I would be still having to giving incentives for staying dry at this point - but it is better than the alternative I guess.
6. Norika's post (and CT's reply) made me want to work harder at the lack of intamacy (not necessarily sex) in our house.
7. CT - what kind of van did you get? As much as people make fun of them - I love ours (an older Odyssey.) So much easier getting kids in/out.
8. One of our friends is heading to Key West tomorrow. I would love to go - warmth, fruity drinks, relaxation...ahhhh.
9. I need to buy some new shoes. I just need to pull the trigger and buy them.
10. Maybe I'll take the kids to the airport today after nap. They love walking around the airport, riding the elevators, seeing the planes, etc. It is close by and free (parking is cheap) and a great place to walk off energy.
1) We also got an Odyssey. I'm not so secretly in love with it. SO MUCH easier!!! Even Sprout loves it.
2) Last week there was tons of hype over a huge storm and we ended up with 1/2 an inch...yesterday there was brief mention about a little snow coming over night and I woke up to 5 inches. wtf?
3) I'm feeling at a loss for how to get Sprout PTed overnight, though andrea thinks its no big deal. I'm not sure why it bothers me so much.
4) I need to decide what i'm giving up for lent.
5) I'm considering offering to host Easter but that might be a disaster...and way more work than I want to take on.
6) Rosebud has had a stuffy nose every day of her life. If we could ever get that poor child decongested she wouldnt know what to do with herself.
7) My mom already started asking when we are going to stop cosleeping and start solids. good grief, she's only 3 months old! Should she be driving by now too?
8) I hate TTC.
9) I still have christmas decorations up at my house.
10) the last time i got my hair cut my stylist said she was surprised I didnt have any greys yet. the thought that i'm old enough to be getting greys is depressing.

Yay! I can't wait to get a new(er) Odyssey. Ours is a 2003 and while it is fine - I love some of the features on the newer models!
Gray is PTed overnight - he just did it himself. We did leave him in pull-ups overnight for a few months as a precaution - but within the last few weeks stopped putting them on him and *knock on wood* no accidents. Now, Carter is NEVER dry in the morning (heck, he is having accidents during the day..) You could wake him at 11 to go to the bathroom, limit fluids after 6, wake in the middle of the night,etc. It is common for boys not to be PTed overnight till they are much older. I am not worrying about it at this point. I just want to have dry days.
But you will hear my shouting from the rooftops the when we stop buying overnight pull-ups (I still jump with joy every time we are in Costco and we don't have to buy diapers/wipes!)
We still have a couple of Santas and snowmen up too. They are bigger ones and the boys like to play with them (like action figures.) Maybe if we put them away, spring will come.
1. I went to Maine for the weekend to visit my friend Asha, and she is an amazing hostess. I learn so much from her about how to make people feel comfortable and special when visiting.
2. Ate lots of seafood this weekend: lobster, mussels, clams, oysters, tuna. And unusual meats: steak tartare, pork belly, sweetbreads, headcheese.
3. They have much less snow in Maine than we have in DC. I'm so sick of climbing over packed-down snow piles to get anywhere.
4. The Au Bon Pain in the basement re-opened today after being closed for months, and they no longer have iced coffee! Whyyyyyyyyyy?
5. I'm giving up cheese for Lent, in solidarity with my friend Alex who gave up cheese for all of 2010. (I am not Catholic, or religiously observant in general, but I do love Easter and like the challenge of giving something up for Lent.)
6. We also planned on giving up watching TV on weeknights during Lent, but...the Olympics are on, y'all. So that is being moved back until the Olympics are over
7. I had just a banana and coffee for breakfast, and I'm so ready for lunch.
8. I'm excited to go to CVS and check out the Easter candy this afternoon. NERD.
9. Jen bought me a Stargate Atlantis action figure set for Valentine's Day. SUPER NERD.
10. We went out for dinner on Friday and the restaurant knew it was our anniversary (they asked if it was a special occasion when Jen called to make the reservation). They sat us at the table in front of the fireplace, added a piece of chocolate that said "Happy Anniversary" to our dessert, and gave us a gift of scone mix, coffee and Irish butter with an anniversary card when they brought the check. WOW. (Restaurant Eve in Alexandria, locals.)
1. Having an intern is more work than it's worth. But I'm hoping that's because it's only her 2nd week and still in 'training'.
2. I'm going to have long work hours this week.
3. My wall calendar never got changed to February. Maybe I'll just wait until March to switch it.
4. I'm hungry.
5. K and I have been sleeping on the guest bed for 10 days but tonight we'll get to try our comfy new mattress :-)
6. I must remember to pay my mortgage today.
7. K and I set up multiple registries to please different people. Some of the items are duplicates. I was trying to watch the registries with the intention of removing duplicates if they were both at one store or the other. Well I guess I'm not a good registry stalker because the same item was purchased at two different stores. I feel awful :-( But they are bottles so I'm sure we can't have enough of those.
8. lol - I just posted after typing only 7 things.
9. It's been snowing since I left for work this a.m. I wonder how much we're supposed to get?
10. Gotta go research some info for the boss.
1. My baby will one 1 tomorrrow! I can't believe it. She amazes me and I love her so much.
2. I am a huge ball of anxiety and worry. Living with all this uncertainty is so much harder than I thought it would be.
3. Our SW asked for no contact between the girls and their bio parents. Even if we don't get it, she is my hero for trying.
4. Our SW also asked if we planned to move soon. This makes me nervous. I wonder if a threat was made. UGH. More to wory about.
5. Will you all come to court with us and hold my hand? Please? I am so scared.
6. It's beautiful out today, I think it's a park day.
7. I cannot make myself write the report for court. I don't know what my problem is. I just can't get it all out.
8. MIL is still not planning on coming to PBS' b-day party. S seems over it but I am really angry and disgusted.
9. We are starting to look at preschools for LMC

1. We redid our budget and now we are not eating out anymore for a very long time. So now of course all the commercials for restaurants make me want to eat at them.... even places I don't like. Yup. I have zero self control.
2. Why is it now that Annie has outgrown her exersaucer she now loves every toy on it. She spends a ton of time circling it pushing buttons that she can't really reach since they are meant to be used from the inside.
3. We are getting more snow. Sigh. Can spring be here yet?
4. Work is getting to be more and more of a PITA. Every vacation I put in for was denied that there was no coverage. Then my boss told me she put me on vacation a week in June "since it was open" I pretty much told her to shove it and I am filing a complaint with out HR department. ( I have 8 weeks of vacation to burn... she has blocked off the rest of the year)
5. I was so excited to have gone to a movie last weekend with my sweetie. I wish we had more time for things like that. How does life get so busy.
6. I made carmel chocolate chip cookies this weekend and they are the richest thing I have eaten in a long time. I can't even finish one and I need a big glass of milk with it. They are really good though.
7. There is a Joan of Arcadia marathon on today... I never watched this when it was on but now I am completely sucked in.
8. I am debating on trying to transition Annie to her crib. She has never slept in it ( grand total she has probably spent less than one hour in it total in her whole life) I am just wondering if we would all sleep better.
9. I really really really am done with the snow.
10. I have a really single minded child right now. She sets her sights on something and she MUST HAVE IT NOW!!!!! Its so fun to watch her personality emerge.

3. We bought a new patio set with 4 chairs and a table. We also got a matching outdoor rocker and a lounge chair.
4. I dug up 3 flower beds and planted Nasturtium seeds today.
5. I am completely covered in sweat and dirt right now.
6. I am getting a massage on Thursday.
7. We took Alila to have her birthday lunch where DW works and everyone was sweet enough to sing Happy Birthday to her.
8. I need to wash all of Alila's new clothes, at least 4 loads worth.
9. I'm hungry but don't want to cook.
10. I'm happy.
