EK perspective

The rug in 6let's room is 5x8.  I pushed the crib (looks about like hers) one foot off the back of the rug.  That floor space is what she's working with.  There's even a kid in there for true perspective ;)

That is NOT a room for 2 kids let alone THREE.

Re: EK perspective

  • That is insane.

    Awwww@ 6let though!

  • So very not ok. I've been in some TEEENY apartments and that is not livable for 3 growing boys. If you're an adult and you want to live in a hole, then fine. Don't subject your children to it.
  • And imagine there being a one-foot space jutting out of every wall that's unusable, too. Between the hanging slide, keyboard, bookshelves, and miscellaneous crap, she's given those kids about three square feet of "play space."
  • That 3 square feet + their diet is fine. If she fed them like normal kids they would have energy and play more.

  • When my parents built their house in 1974, they had two daughters and thought they were done.  So they built a two bedroom house.  Then they had three more children.  They did add on, but only one bedroom.  To avoid sharing a room with anyone, I used a room that was originally designated as my mother's sewing room.  It was 6x6.  It was tiny, but doable. I kept all of my hanging clothes in my brother's room since he had two big closets and not many clothes that he needed to hang up.  Also, I was one teenager, not three little boys.

  • That's the difference, Zsa. You made the choice. They're being forced into this hole.
  • I could do 6x6 by myself, not with 2 siblings.  Plus all of the other areas of the house are cluttered beyond belief.  The slide still kills me.
  • Yes, choice makes a big difference.  And teenagers only need enough room for some sort of stereo and a bed to lie on while they cry.  No toys.
