...is my new name. Thanks to Lasik.
Surgery went well, it was incredibly fast. Seconds for each eye. The only problem was getting the vacuum ring to hold the suction on my left eye. It kept popping (the suction, not my eye) and had to be placed three times. This caused a lot of bruising, hence the new nickname. Picture will be placed in another post, if you don't like bloody eyes, don't look! DH even addressed my VD card "to my Zombie Girl".
Worst part of the entire day was 3 hours post op. You're supposed to sleep the first few hours to get past most of the pain. Between the pain, the subsequent migraine and the weirdness of wearing goggles to bed, I just couldn't sleep. Even with Xanax and two Advil PM's. So that totally blew, the pain was pretty bad but at least it didn't last long. As soon as I started medicating the eyes (have 3 different drops) they started to feel better. I was able to sleep at night.
Woke up Saturday and could see! 20/25 vision when I went back to the doctor that day. They said it would keep improving.
So now I'm just putting up with ugly and unwashed eyes. I'm not allowed to touch them at all, so they are pretty crusty. Wearing sunglasses everywhere I go. I'm working from home, although I may venture in to work at the end of the week, as long as things go well at my 2nd post op visit tomorrow and I can wash my face like a normal human being. I'd recommend it with the caveat that you must sleep. I would have gotten some stronger Xanax from my dealer I mean mother if I would have known I'd have such a hard time.
Re: Zombie Girl...
Um, wow. That IS a lot of bruising/red/yellow for the third day. Sorry you had such a hard time. I had no problem with the suction so mine were barely bloodshot the 2nd day. Or I would've told you get the good stuff!
I imagine in a about a week you'll be happy with it. It is really weird to sleep in goggles though.
