i love them. i especially love the nationalist sht-talking. dh cursed out a frenchmen for coming from behind to win some sport neither of us have ever heard of before.
i also love the sad sack stories, especially the ones that are straight out of a coffee commercial, with mom and dad getting up at 5am to drive junior to the arena.

I was all over the snowboarding last night. I've been skiing all of maybe twice in my life, and I was sitting there on the sofa wishing I could be snowboarding. HA!
I also told H I thought I would be good at speedskating. Not olympic good, but good. He looked at me like I was nuts.
We were watching some other obscure event, and H said "How do you even find out that you're good at that?"
IDK. The winter games are a mystery to me. I grew up on the Gulf of Mexico. I remember it snowed once (March 12, 1993). I know nothing of winter sports.
Ooh, I LOVE biathlon. Those dudes look like they just want to die when they're done. And to be able to shoot accurately when you can't hardly breathe and your body's shaking with adrenaline? Incredible.
But. I hate HATE figure skating. I loved me some Brian Boitano back in the day, but not any more.
I hate the Olympics. They take up ninety-five channels, nobody else will show new shows, and they are boooooooooring.
I have the feeling that I am alone with my husband in this opinion.
there is this awesome/hilarious curling commercial for the olympics about some curling upset that took place in torino and the announcer starts screaming, "the americans have answered! NOT IN MY HOUSE!" i love it.

I've always thought of curling as bowling on ice, or perhaps bocci ball.
