I think Alyssa knows very well what's going on in her world. Yesterday, I had gotten her up from her nap. She still seemed tired but she was awake and I wasn't going to force the issue. We decided to meet a friend of mine and her son at M&C and then head over to Coldstone. I got her in her carseat, was talking to her and telling where we're going, and then needed to change her. So I took her out of the seat and brought her upstairs. She was yawning and rubbing her eyes and sucking her thumb so I really thought maybe another nap?? Took her back downstairs, put a sunhat on her, and she started to SCREAM her head off!!!!!! I thought for sure she was still tired. We had plenty of time before we needed to meet my friend so I thought I could rock her and she would drift off.
My point ...
I think she knows at this point that when she's in her car seat, we're going somewhere. I took her out, sat in the rocker, and saw the look on her face seconds before she started wailing. She did NOT want to be rocked, she did NOT want to sleep, she wanted to go out!!! I got her in her carseat and she started smiling and LAUGHING!!! We had a perfectly fine afternoon.
Alyssa knows what's going on. And boy did she give me a piece of her mind about it.
Re: The funniest thing happened ...
It sure is amazing at how much they really do understand at the age and how they know exactly what is going on around them.
We missed seeing you at group this morning. Glad Alyssa was able to get a good nap in though. Hope to see you next week.
It is amazing that they really do know what's going on around them at that age. Allyson hates getting in her carseat but as soon as I pick up the seat and carry her to the car she's happy. If I set it down for a couple of minutes before we leave she starts crying. Its like hurry up mom! lol
Glad to hear things are going well, I can't believe she is over 4 months already!
