What do you think about Studio City...
We're still searching for the perfect place to relocate to from freezing cold MA and I've been hearing some nice things about Studio City. I'm looking for an area that, most importantly, we can raise our 2 young daughters. We're looking for a nice area that has good schools. Any info would be great! Thanks
Re: What do you think about Studio City...
Hi there! I happen to live in Studio City and absolutely LOVE it!! We just recently moved into a townhouse, and I cannot say enough good things about the area. Safe, has a neighborhood feel to it and has quite a lot to do.....resturaunts, bars, shopping, gyms, grocery store and more. Im not sure if your looking to buy or rent but either way look for great places on streets like Moorpark, Coldwater, Whitsett, etc. I moved from the east coast and found this area and the people in it to be very similar to the east coast.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the advice, it sounds lovely. We are looking to rent at first and then eventually buy. How are the summers there? DH thinks it is really hot. (It doesn't bother me since I'd rather have hot summers than freezing winters
Btw...gorgeous wedding picture!
thanks,
Laura
I live in the Studio City area as well and love it. There are a ton of great restaurants nearby, and you're only 10 minutes from Hollywood. So you get the feeling of living somewhat in the suburbs, but close to a major city with things to do.
Though, to answer your question, the summers do tend to get very hot in the Valley from about June/July through October. It can typically get over 100 degrees every day - but as long as you have central air, it isn't too bad!
thank you!!
i agree, the summer's are known to be pretty hot in the valley but it has truly varied every year i've been here. There's been weeks of 100+ degrees and weeks of wonderful weather in the high 80s. Nothing a little AC and a place with a pool cant fix
Studio City is just what it says, a city. We lived there for a year and couldn't handle the traffic. We grew up in Westlake Village and now live in Thousand Oaks, which is about 25 minutes north. Great schools, great people, and much cooler than the Valley. Good Luck!
I'm in Studio City, the Coldwater Canyon/Moorpark intersection actually, and its good. But I would really recommend Burbank. Both my husband and I work in Burbank, and when we have kids we plan to move to Burbank. The schools are not part of LAUSD, which is nice, and it has a more family-centered feel, more park areas, great churches, less traffic.
I know no one has replied in a while, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to share.
