Without seeing the coat, I'd select either 3 or 1. However, didn't your H say you needed a new coat? Maybe just buy new buttons with a new coat attched

Do like the military does their uniforms and make the coat so that you have to put the buttons on when you're ready to wear it and remove them for dry cleaning. YWIA

You just put the 'nipple' portion of the button in a small hole on the coat/jacket and slide the clip through. Ta da! Your buttons never fell off during wear or at the cleaners.
