Sink toilet!

I feel like we talked about this idea a while back, but seeing it, its not as strange as it sounded!

I kinda like it!

Caroma Toilet

The Caroma Toilet

In drought-striken Australia, where wasting water is unforgivable, Caroma's Profile toilet features a faucet situated on top of the tank. After each flush, water pours out the faucet and into a recessed drain until the tank is refilled, giving you the chance to wash your hands and save water from going down the drain, just yet.

  • Cool although the sink seems really small....

  • It seems odd to me that I would have to straddle the toilet to wash my hands. Someone could probably wash their hair in the though!
  • I just had a lol thought of me flushing and then racing to turn around and wash before time ran out.

  • i've seen them in Japan, i think they're pretty common there.
  • That's pretty neat!
  • lol MsEmily, I think you could stand beside it!

Jpeazy, its not the flush timing, its the water refill. It takes a decent amount of time to refill the tank, plenty of hand-washing time.

  • Somehow, I wasn't shocked by a sink-toilet, and I think it's because ST was considering putting one in at one point.  I think the sink part was a lot bigger on the one she posted a picture of - more like normal toilet tank width.  I wonder if she ever put one in?

I think they're a fabulous idea, especially in very small bathrooms.

  • Aha!! That's where we discussed it before!! We'll have to see if she still has the info on the one she was considering.

    I like it.

  • I think it would be great for a small room... but you couldn't say wash your face in it (I think).

  • This is interesting~ I must have not been around when this was discussed. I think it would take some getting used to.
  • I saw those type of toilets all over Japan.  Usually small businesses and homes.  I actually liked the idea, it's a great space saver too!

OOOOOH! Lol. Well, that makes much more sense! This would be great for a half bath or guest bath. Smack a mirror behind it, and you've got all-in-one gold!

  • Someone posted that on d&r, and some people were grossed out by it.  I thought it was kind of cool.Stick out tongue

I just got back from Japan, and I never saw anything like that. Fwiw, I thought their toilets used an obscene amount of water.   The public bathrooms often had bidets and seat warmers, and many (including our hotel) reminded us of RV bathrooms.
