Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

Please donate

I know times are tough for everyone, but this family needs help.  "Brad Hodgdon was working on a 1967 Mercury Cougar in his carport in the 4500 block of Hunt Road about 2 p.m. He drained the gas from the tank but some of it leaked onto a light bulb under the vehicle and sparked an explosion and fire."

Donations to the family through the link below.  Pass it along.

Re: Please donate

  • I'm sorry, but I don't feel this is appropriate. There are a lot of people who need help right now between job losses, medical problems, foreclosures. A lot of people are hurting. And a lot of people experience tragedy every day.

All of us on the board can't request donations every time we know someone that has had a horrific life experience. The board would be overwhelmed, I'm sure. And that isn't what this board is about.

I understand your desire to help. I really, really do. It would be great if we could help everyone who needs it. But I think there was a website created to field donations and it should be left there.

  • Wow, Im sorry you feel that way.  Like I said above, I know times are tough for everyone.  I in no way know this family personally, but was shown the website through a teacher that works for Sycamore schools.  I just wanted to spread this website to get more help for this family.
  • I don't think it was the post that gets me as much as the "Please Donate" title.  Perhaps "family in need" or something would be more appropriate.
