Recommend reusable produce bags please?
What do you guys use at the grocery store for produce? Are there any bags that are particularly good?
Thanks!
Re: Recommend reusable produce bags please?
We use these (we bought a set of 9).
We also reuse 3 Ziploc bags that have the zipper at the top. We buy lettuce in the mesh bags but it doesn't stay fresh unless it's sealed.

We use the ones by LoveForEarth on etsy and love them!

I've had these for almost a year now and they're great. The green color is nice and visible, it doesn't have ribbon so they don't fray, and they hold a ton. I normally get 10 apples at once and they can manage that plus more!
I have these too! Love them and I get compliments on them all the time from the check out ladies at my grocery store.
I love these from reusablebags.com. Makes picking up produce from my CSA so much easier!
I tried a couple of different kinds, and these from Peddler's Wagon came out the clear winner. Organic cotton and fair trade. I do use them in the fridge for everything except leafy veggies and mushrooms. Mushrooms should be stored in a paper bag, which keeps out moisture but allows air circulation. I put leafy greens, like lettuce or arugula in FoodSaver bags (stays fresh forever!) which are reusable.
I have the set from AMK on Etsy and to be honest I don't like them. I'm thinking about giving them away here on the GL board. The bags don't fit in their holder no matter how you folder them, and the drawstring of the holder already started to fray after only a few uses. They're also kind ridgid, and I like that the Peddler's Wagon bags are softer.
I also got these free from Mother Earth News when I ordered their archive CD.
I do, but right now the produce I'm getting is things like curly kale, carrots, beets so it's not important they're airtight.
The onions and potatoes I just hang in the pantry - I have a couple of nails in the side and I hang them by the string. Works great!
