Any of you work in a public or academic library? Is there an online site I could go to, to look for a library job?
Thanks.

Though honestly especially in this economy right now it's near impossible to get a job at a library without an MLS or currently obtaining one (don't know if you are, sorry). Public would be much more likely. In an academic library you will most likely be a work study student if you're attending that univ. or have your MLS. I'm at an academic library and found it at that sight. If you're obtaining your MLS or can at least say that you're attending next semester then you'll have a lot better shot! Good luck
I understand what you are saying...but there are many library jobs that simply do not require an MLS. This is especially true in circulation.
I worked at an academic library for fours years. The circulation department was rather large and only the head of the department had an MLS. That degree is just unnecessary for the other positions.
That being said, to become a librarian an MLS is a must. All of our reference librarians and department heads had at least an MLS.
Otherwise, there are always many support staff positions. Some do not even require a college degree, let alone an MLS.
On another note -- I had meant to post earlier that I did not hear about anything from my friends at the library I worked out. Academic libraries are being cut along with the big education cuts in Indiana. Most are downsizing, not hiring. You still might want to check with individual libraries. For public libraries, I would do the same.
Good luck! If I hear about anything in the future I will send you a message.
