Anybody know anything about...
the concept of "prevailing wages" ?
I'm combing the internet for info on NYC's Prevailing Wages and how to enlist in it for a job we have to do for the NYC Parks, but I'm not understanding what I'm finding...
And for every bit of info, I have to actually CALL NYC Parks, but alas, they're keep transferring me elsewhere...

Re: Anybody know anything about...
Prevailing wage mainly has to do with how union workers are paid and I believe it states that the must be paid a base amount hourly for the work that is being preformed. They differ from county to county and are reflected upon the local wages and other things.
Not sure if that's what you are looking for.
Yup - that's it! But do you have any idea of how I find out how much prevailing plumbing wages are for NYC?
The numbers I'm finding look like this:
Plumbers: 1:1; 1:3
Contractors: 1:1; 1:2
WTF does that mean?
