anyone use a nanny service locally?

I am having twins and so we've determined that a nanny service will be more cost effective than day care.  That being said, I'm only looking to hire a nanny part time.  If you use a nanny through a service, what service was it and what's your experience been like?  TIA!

(posted this on the bump too)

Re: anyone use a nanny service locally?

  • Hi There! First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm also pregnant with twins, due in August. Not sure if you remember me, we were on the knot together, I think you were married a few months before me.

I'm considering hiring a nanny 4 days/week. I've heard from 2 people that had luck finding a nanny through care.com. Basically, it's a website with profiles of people looking for work in childcare, it's not an agency. All of the people are supposed to be prescreened with their background checks viewable. I have a coworker who found a great nanny through that site and a friend on another board who found her nanny there. I'm just starting to look myself and my first instinct was to go through an agency. I'll let you know if I find anything else that looks good.

     I hope you're feeling well :)
